Occurs on sandy and rocky bottoms. Reported to be a secondary fishery resource which is exploited all year round by local small-scale fisheries with hook-and-line, traps and trammel nets, and its landings showed no notable trend over the period of 2014-2019, yielding a mean value near 5.9 t/y, with a peak of 13.7 t in 2018. It is also subject to some recreational fishing activity. (Ref. 126427).
