Dorsal soft rays (total): 6; Anal soft rays: 8 - 9. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: rhomboid shaped thoracic adhesive apparatus, with a cone type median depression without striae and widely openes posteriorly; unculiferous ridges of adhesive apparatus not extending anteriorly onto gular region; plicae on ventral surfaces of first pectoral and pelvic fins rays present, maxillary barbel almost reaching posterior end of the pectoral fin; outer mandible barbel reaching pectoral fin; three pale cream longitudinal stripes on dorsal present; lateral and ventral sides of the body; tuberculated body; head length 23.8, 24.7% SL; post adipose distance 12.0, 12.9% SL; nasal barbel length 19.2, 21.6% HL; slender caudal peduncle 7.0, 7.4 % SL; height of anal fin 16.4, 17.3 % SL; caudal peduncle 19.9, 20.5 % SL; body depth at dorsal-fin origin 15.4, 15.7 % SL; and caudal fin length 32.0, 32.6 % SL (Ref. 138115).
