Etymology: Campellolebias: Named after Gilberto Campello that made expeditions in Brazil + Greek, lebias, lebiou = a kind of fish; insularis: Name 'insularis' in reference to its occurrence in the continental island of Santa Catarina, municipality of Florianopolis.
