Marine; bathypelagic; depth range ? - 1860 m (Ref. 5169). Deep-water; 65°N - 49°S
Eastern Atlantic: 65°N (between Greenland to Iceland) to about 44°N (Ref. 4740); two records at 26°N 16°W and 11°N 24°W. Western Atlantic: between 42°N and 37°N. Northwest Atlantic: Canada (Ref. 5951). Circumglobal in the subtropical convergence south of 35°S.
