Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

Found in marginal areas of small first order streams and in wetlands completely exposed to the sun on a slightly undulating terrain at altitudes ranging from 267 to 315 m a.s.l. One of the wetlands was deep (about 70 cm of maximum depth), with muddy substratum and turbid water, while in the other localities wherein the species was recorded, the areas were shallow, not exceeding 20 cm depth, in crystalline waters with a clayey substrate. Eight species recorded to be co-occurring with were: Aphyocharax dentatus, Pyrrhulina australis, Hyphessobrycon anisitsi, Hyphessobrycon eques, Serrapinnus kriegi, Cichlasoma dimerus, Hoplerythrinus unitaeniatus and Moenkhausia sanctaefilomenae (Ref. 119399).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = No PD50 data   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00661 (0.00311 - 0.01404), b=3.09 (2.91 - 3.27), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.1   ±0.4 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
