Etymology: Bathypterois: Greek, bathys = deep + Greek, pterois = with wings (Ref. 45335).
Issue
Provisionally accepted species. Sometimes considered as a synonym of Bathypterois dubius. Requires a complete comparative morpho-anatomic and genetic work. More studies are needed, or please send references.
