This species is characterized by the following set of characters: short, distinct lateral line ending below second dorsal fin ray; dorsal fin rays 84, anal fin rays 69, precaudal vertebrae 13, total vertebrae 51 and total number of rakers on anterior gill arch 13-14 (3 long and 10-11 plates); longest gill raker is 1.2% SL, snout to end of lateral line 34.0% SL; interorbital pore one, occipital pores two (Ref. 83453).
