Dorsal soft rays (total): 70 - 72; Anal soft rays: 61; Vertebrae: 44 - 45. This species differs from its congeners by the following characters: 70-72 dorsal-fin rays; 61 anal-fin rays; 19-20 pectoral-fin rays; 11 precaudal vertebrae; origin of anal fin below dorsal fin ray 12-13; absence of pseudobranchial filaments; lower part of preopercle with 3-4 spines (Ref. 83559).
