First dorsal rays lack filamentous extensions. Anal fin origin at vertical of first branched ray of second dorsal fin. Distance between posterior oculoscapular canal pores è and ô about equal to gap between anterior and posterior oculoscapular canals. Body with five to six main greyish-brown blotches. Cheek and opercle with a longitudinal grey stripe. Pectoral fin base with a right-angled black mark.
