Scales in lateral line series over lateral band 47-52; mouth located above a horizontal line crossing the center of pupil and the middle of the head depth; ventral head profile clearly divided into two straight sections, forming an angle at the retroarticular joint; eyes very large, equal to or slightly smaller than snout length; only body scales above midlateral band weakly pigmented along their borders (Ref. 47314).
