Etymology: Bryozoichthys: Greek, bryon = moss + Greek, zoon = little + Greek, ichthys = fish (Ref. 45335); marjorius: Named for Mrs. D. (Marjorie) McPhail (Ref. 6885).
Eponymy: Mrs D Marjorie McPhail is the wife of the author, Canadian ichthyologist John D McPhail – co-author of Freshwater Fishes of Northwestern Canada and Alaska (1970). She is mother to their daughter, appropriately called Pearl. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
