Characterized by generally greyish brown color with irregular greenish-brown bars and narrow pale spaces between; large black spots on side , mid-lateral row; head with pink spots; head and body with blue dots; united pelvic fins, presence of frenum; longitudinal scale series 56-65; head without scales; greatest depth of body 4.3 in SL; rounded caudal fin, about equal to head length (Ref. 90102).
Occurs in shallow lagoons and coastal bays, usually in areas with runoffs (Ref. 48637). Maximum depth reported taken from Ref. 127989.
