Diagnosis

This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: presence of a single conspicuous dark blotch on the caudal peduncle, a longitudinal dark stripe along the midlateral surface of the body, three horizontally aligned brown blotches forming interrupted dorsolateral lines; longitudinal stripe absent; subinferior mouth; 16 circumpeduncular scales; aligned brown blotches over the trunk present; elongated inconspicuous light-brown stripe on lateral line combined with a dark brown blotch on caudal peduncle; 32-34 preanal scales (Ref. 133455).
