Diagnosis

Preopercle with a small antrorse spine. Infraorbital and suborbital ridges bearing many fine serrations. Preocular spines 2-3. Lower side of head bicarinate. Iris lappet slightly bilobed. (Ref. 9790).

Description: Characterized by greyish brown color; indistinct darker brown to blackish bands/saddles on dorsal half of body; first dorsal fin blackish with white and black bands on spines; second dorsal fin with black spots; pectoral, pelvic and caudal fins blackish with white spots/bands and narrow outer white margin (Ref. 90102).
