Diagnosis |
This species differs from closely related P. lori in details of color and by having fewer dorsal rays (Ref. 37816). Saddles more pronounced and along entire dorsal fin to base of caudal fin (Ref. 48635). Description: Characterized by lavender pink color; each body scale with yellow-orange spot; snout with magenta-edged yellow stripe; 6-7 broad but short saddles along back; lower caudal fin lobe yellow; greatest depth of body 3.3-4.0 in SL; absence of fleshy protuberance at front of upper lip in male; lunate caudal fin; filamentous tips on pelvic fins (Ref. 90102). |
