Diagnosis

No large, black blotches or bands arrayed in series along the lateral midline. Second pharyngobranchial tooth plate with 2 rows of teeth. Robust unicate process of the first epibranchial bone at least twice the diameter of the anterior arm. Reduced angle between arms of the first epibranchial. Gill rakers on lower limb 10 (modally). Supraoccipital crest with truncate and rounded postero-dorsal margin. Fin coloration in life deep orangish-red. Anterior chest scales embedded and reduced in size.
