Diagnosis |
This species is distinguished by the following characters: D IV-V,19-20; A 24-25; pectoral-fin rays 19; V I,5; 33 vertebrae including the hypural; 9-10 gill rakers on the lower limb of first arch; elongated spinous dorsal-fin, the first spine reaching to middle of second dorsal fin or somewhat beyond; non-elongated soft dorsal or anal fin rays; about 30-32 tubed lateral-line scales; slightly crenulated or incised above and below lateral-line tube; at the anterior end of each maxilla is a short, obtuse spine, scarcely or not protruding through skin; tip of upper jaw without barbel; small patch of teeth laterally at the tip of vomer, separated mesially by a large gap; no palatine teeth (Ref. 95663). |
