Diagnosis |
Diagnosed from other species of the genus Phalloceros by the first gonapophysis angled 5-15 degrees relative to vertebral column and second gonapophysis angled zero-15 degrees relative to vertebral column. Differs further from its congeners, except Phalloceros leticiae and Phalloceros ocellatus, by the roundish to round and well-defined ocellated lateral spot. Distinguished from Phalloceros leticiae and Phalloceros ocellatus by the number of anal-fin rays in females (11 vs. 10, respectively) (Ref. 76852). Description: Pectoral fin with 6-7 branched rays; longitudinal series of scales 28; transverse series of scales 7 (Ref. 76852). |
