Teeth on lower jaw uniserial except those very close to symphysis, recurved anteriorly, tips overlapping to form a sharp cutting edge. Dentition on upper jaw limited to 3-4 isolated teeth on each side of symphysis. Chin not gelatinous; chin-pore pair on ventral surface. Head length 20.7% SL; depth equal its length. Upper jaw 37% HL. Body depth at anal-fin origin 15.4. Lower pectoral-fin lobe equal to length of upper lobe. Pyloric caeca 9. Pectoral-fin rays 22 (upper lobe 15 + notch rays 1 + lower 6). Vertebrae 67. Caudal-fin rays 8. Radials of pectoral girdle 4 (3 + 1), round (Ref. 44775).
