| Diagnosis |
This species is distinguished by the following characters: with an indistinct notch between spinous and soft dorsal fin; caudal fin rounded; D VIII,13; anterior portion of palatine tooth bands is broad, with ca. 6-8 rows of small villiform teeth. Colouration: body pink to red, a broad deep red stripe above body axis, extending from the tip of snout to upper half of caudal fin base; with a large deep red blotch at caudal fin base; the posterior margin of the caudal fin is white when fresh, becoming grey in preservation (Ref. 137547). |
