Diagnosis |
Distinguished from congeners, except Leiocassis poecilopterus, in having the posterior tip of the supraoccipital process in contact with the nuchal plate. Further differs from L. micropogon in possessing a deeper body (19.8-20.8% SL vs. 10.0-18.9); and from L. poecilopterus in having a longer adipose fin (15.8-16.6% SL vs. 12.9-15.0) and longer dorsal (20.8% SL vs. 15.5-18.4) and pectoral spines (17.9-18.7 % SL vs. 14.5-17.5) (Ref. 55439). |
