This species is distinguished by the following characters: dorsal-fin origin anterior to the gill opening; presence of pterygoid teeth; body depth at gill opening 28-40% of HL; vertebrae, preanal 59-66 (mean 63), total 164-175 (mean 168.9); preanal lateral-line pores 59-64 (mean 61). Colour in life whitish to pale yellow with dense, small, round, orange-brown to dark-brown spots (Ref. 121836). |
