Diagnosis |
Description: Dorsal fin III + XII-XVI + 8-10; anal fin I, 16-20 (usually 19); pectoral rays 15-17; pelvic fin I,2. Lateral line continuous, pored scales 17-23; head, nape and narrow strip on upper back scaleless. Mandibular sensory pores 3-5 + 1 + 3-5. Male head dorsal red, ventral black with blue horizontal stripe below the eye and in between the red and black areas; body vertical bars irregular, brown, about 8 in series; pectoral fin black with spots 2-3 in the upper side. Female overall white, ventrally yellowish with white spots, body bars irregular, yellowish brown, marble on back and sides (Ref. 90102). |
