Dorsal to anal fin-ray formula 8/8. Description: with translucent greenish or slightly yellowish with red brown spots on each scale; 5-6 internal brownish bars on body; head with numerous dark brown to reddish spots on head; pectoral fin base with pair of large brown spots; first three dorsal spines of male may be elongate, first two filamentous; tenth to fifteenth pectoral rays almost always branched; longitudinal scale series 23-25; ctenoid scales, none on head, nape and base of pectoral fin; separated pelvic fins, thin membrane joining bases; average of 7 branches on fourth pelvic ray; depth of body 3.9-4.3 in SL (Ref. 90102). |
