Diagnosis |
This species is distinguished from all congeners by having unusual pigmentation pattern, on dorsum 12-16 large vertical bands from the occiput to the base of caudal fin, the bands continuous in midlateral line blotches, first band small, 6-7 vertical bands at anterior dorsal fin base, two bands at dorsal fin base, 5-7 bands between posterior dorsal fin base and caudal flexure; oval lamina circularis in males; and rounded scales with a small focal area (Ref. 95089). |
