Diagnosis

Diagnosis: snout acute, longer than or equal to mouth width; premaxillary toothband 16-25%, generally 20% HL; vomerine teeth missing or limited to some isolated teeth, palatine teeth absent; snout longer and head narrower than in C. nigrodigitatus of similar size (Ref. 81642).

Description: dorsal fin rather short (25% SL), 1st ray the longest; anal fin with 4-6 soft unbranched rays and 9-11 branched rays (Ref. 81642).

Coloration: preserved specimens: head and dorsum dark brown or grey, white ventrally; adipose fin often blackish; black spot behind opercle clearly visible; fins bordered in black (Ref. 81642).
