Diagnosis

Description: Oral disc large; maxillary barbels short, not reaching beyond hind edge of disc; mandibular barbels very short; mandibular toothband narrow, teeth closely gathered, up to 12 (Ref. 52193). Dorsal fin with 1 spine and 5-6 soft rays; anal fin with 3 unbranched and 8 branched rays; dorsal spine short, half length of fin (Ref. 52193).

Colouration: Dark brown to black with light brown patches and a series of vertical linear spots along back (Ref. 52193).
