| Diagnosis |
This species is distinguished from its congeners present in Anatolia and adjacent waters (aydinensis, antalyensis, baliki, banarescui, barroisi, bergamae, capoeta, caelestis, damascina, ekmekciae, erhani, kosswigi, mauricii, pestai, sieboldii, sevangi, tinca, trutta, turani, umbla) by the absence of a keratinised edge on the lower lip (vs. present, except for sieboldii, pestai, mauricii; fewer gill rakers on first gill arch, 7-10 (vs. 18–33); fewer branched dorsal fin rays, 7½ (vs. commonly 8½-9½); less serrations along the posterior margin of the last simple dorsal fin ray 0-5 (vs. 12-29, except for caelestis) (Ref. 119422). Description: dorsal fin with 3 simple and 7½ branched rays; anal fin with 3 simple and 5½ branched rays; pectoral fin with 1 simple and 16-17 branched rays; pelvic fin with 1 simple and 8-9 branched rays (Ref. 119422). |
