Definition of Term

low island earthform
(English) A marine benthic ecosystem earthform capped with an atoll or table reef; may be referred to as a low island when a reef islet is present; an atoll earthform or table reef earthform with reef islets; an island with an elevation less than 10 m above high tide, often composed only of carbonate rock and/or sediments.
