Definition of Term

perched lagoon
(English) Modifier of lagoon area; sub-lagoon which is slightly raised above level of main lagoon; usually with coral/algal dams and spillways. (See also: lagoon area)
(French) Système permettant de modifier la surface d'un lagon ; subdivision du lagon légèrement plus élevée que le lagon principal ; souvent réalisée avec un barrage corallien ou algal, ou une digue. (See also: lagoon area)

(Portuguese) Modificação de área de lagoa; sub-lagoa a um nível superior do que a lagoa principal. Normalmente com barreiras de coral ou de algas. (See also: lagoon area)
