Definition of Term

mass selection
(English) A form of artificial selection in which only individuals with phenotypic values greater or less than some threshold level are used for breeding. (See also: breeding, selection, family selection)
sélection pondérale
(French) Forme de sélection artificielle dans laquelle seuls des individus possédant des valeurs phénotypiques supérieures ou inférieures à un seuil donné sont utilisés pour l’élevage. (See also: breeding, selection, family selection)
selecção em massa
(Portuguese) Forma de selecção artificial na qual só os indivíduos com valores fenotípicos maiores do que um limite estabelecido são utilizados na reprodução. (See also: breeding, selection, family selection)
