Comments: Recorded from Zhujiang (=Pearl River), Qiantangjiang, Changjiang, Huai River, Yellow River, Yalujiang (Ref. 33784), all drainages of Guangdong Province (Ref. 33303) and Tungting Lake where it is known as "yu-pien-tzu" (Ref. 35840). A popular cultured fish, introduced from its native range to other regions in the country (intensive culture and extensive stocking in all kinds of inland waters) (Ref. 55380). Also Ref. 5258, 41093, 89110.
