Distribution Eastern Atlantic: reported from Canary Islands, Morocco Mauritania (Cap Blanc, Baie du Levrier), Senegambia (at least off Dakar and Gorée Island, Senegal), Guinea-Bissau (Sanches); southwards to Angola.
Quote Moth-winged comber; Reports of this species from Madeira and the Azores are unsubstantiated (Wirtz et al., 2008; Freitas et al., 2019).
