Family:  Amphiliidae (Loach catfishes), subfamily: Leptoglaninae
Max. size:  2.7 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Luachimo River (Kasai drainage, middle Congo River basin) in Angola (Ref. 11970, 51287, 78218, 86935).
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 37-37. Diagnosis: Zaireichthys dorae differs from all the other species of Zaireichthys in the relatively posterior position of the dorsal fin, which is 1.4 times further from the base of the caudal fin than from the snout, compared with 1.5-1.9 in Z. lacustris and 1.7-2.4 in all other species (Ref. 86935). Description: Pectoral fin spine with 4 or 5 large serrae (Ref. 51287). Humeral process moderately long, denticulations poorly developed (Ref. 51287). Neural and hemal processes relatively slender (Ref. 51287).
Biology:  Occurs over fine sand, lying buried with only its eyes protruding (Ref. 7248).
