Family:  Nemacheilidae (Brook loaches)
Max. size:  4.2 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; depth range 0 - 2 m
Distribution:  Asia: Chao Phraya basin, Maeklong river (Ref. 78705) and Malay Peninsula.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-14; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Distinguished from its congener by having 9-10 1/2 branched dorsal rays (vs. 12 1/2); anus situated under branched dorsal rays 2-3; distance from anus to anal fin origin greater than length of base of dorsal fin (Ref. 39226).
Biology:  Found in a stream with slow current and with depth never more than 30 cm during the dry season. Also collected in turbid waters at a depth between 0 to 2 m on muddy bottom along sandy banks (Ref. 39226).
