Family:  Achiridae (American soles)
Max. size:  25 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine; depth range 10 - 60 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Gulf of California to Ecuador.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found on shallow muddy and sandy bottoms, near estuaries and coastal lagoons (Ref. 9067). Regularly penetrating brackish waters (Ref. 9067). Feeds on crustaceans, small fishes and occasionally, detritus (Ref. 9047).
