Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobiinae
Max. size:  4.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 20 - 40 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Seychelles and Maldives.
Diagnosis:  Tall first dorsal fin (considerable taller in males compared to females) and dark color (Ref. 30404).
Biology:  Found on white sand with free rubble (Ref. 30404). Lives in symbiotic association with either Alpheus ochrostriatus and A. randalli (Ref. 30404).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 20 July 2017 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
