| Diagnosis: | Differs from the other species of Telmatherina by the combination of the following characters: second dorsal fin and anal fin posteriorly rounded; anterior tip of premaxilla not projecting; palatine edentulous; snout width 0.88-1.05 times in its length; 14-17 predorsal scales; 33-34 scales in longitudinal row; 14-17 1/2 branched anal rays. The conspicuous color pattern of both blue and yellow morph males and their courting behavior make them identifiable at once in the field (Ref. 7305). | |||
