Africa: rapids of the lower Congo River, in Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 42510, 52307, 104438) and Republic of Congo (Ref. 52307). Type locality "Matadi" (Ref. 94498) probably erroneous. |
Diagnosis: rounded to slightly flattened body; differs from T. brichardi and T. depressum in the possession of a lower number of body scales pored by the lateral-line system (33-35); some males with several vertical rows of maculae in caudal fin; snout slightly more pointed than in T. brichardi; eyes in a somewhat more elevated position (Ref. 52307).
