Max. size:  35 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Yellow Sea and the northern East China Sea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16-18; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 13-15; Vertebrae: 21-22. Body covered with prickles; dark brown with many round white spots dorsally. A large round black blotch edged with a white line on side just behind pectoral fin (Ref. 559).
Biology:  Ovaries, liver, skin and intestine toxic (Ref. 43239).

Threat to humans:  poisonous to eat
