This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: low number of total dorsal-fin elements, 41?44 (mean = 43.3) and anal-fin elements, 34?38 (mean = 36.3); with a short body, head length (HL)/SL 0.169?0.182 (mean = 0.175), preanal length (Preanal)/SL 0.391?0.449 (mean = 0.421), and body depth (BD)/SL 0.062?0.098 (mean = 0.082); barbels on ventral surface of head in a 2-4-2 pattern (Ref. 120675). |
