Distribution:  Asia: China.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 21-25; Vertebrae: 45-47. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: pectoral-fin spine with a smooth anterior margin; maxillary barbels short not extending beyond the base of the pectoral-fin spine; dorsal spine short not exceeding two-thirds of head length; prepelvic length 40.0-46.4% SL; vertebrae 45-47; A 21-25; body depth 10.1-13.5% SL; caudal fin slightly emarginated (Ref. 130972),
Biology:  Occurs in mountain streams of the river basin where it is found. Associated species include Acrossocheilus fasciatus, Pseudogastromyzon fasciatus, Rhinogobius niger and Tachysurus albomarginatus (Ref. 130972).
