Biology: |
A pelagic species found near surface of water or in midwater in open sea (Ref. 126547). Feeds mainly on copepods, preferably Acartia clausi, Pseudocalanus elongatus, Oithona nana, and Pseudocalanus parvus (Ref. 10613). Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). |
