Max. size:  25 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Half Moon Bay in central California, USA to south central Baja California and Guadalupe Island off north central Baja California, Mexico.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in sand beaches, often in drifting algae. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205).

Threat to humans:  harmless
