Max. size:  2.4 cm TL (male/unsexed); 2.15 cm SL (female)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 25 - 130 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Japan, New Caledonia and Hawaii.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 4-4; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-9; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 7-8. Body elongate, head slightly depressed. Snout short, eye large. Body with 4 bright red bands (female, Japan) (Ref. 37436).
Biology:  Benthic (Ref. 58302).
