Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 5 - 15 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Atlantic: known only from Azores, Madeira, and the Canary Islands. Mediterranean (Ref. 50345).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults are found in the littoral area, near rocks and seagrass beds (Ref. 4742). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Males build dish shaped nests and guard the eggs (Ref. 205).
