Max. size:  60 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic-neritic; marine; depth range - 130 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: southern Japan (Ref. 41299) to the South China Sea.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Known from the continental shelves, sometimes at depths greater than 130 m (Ref. 57879). Ovoviviparous (Ref. 559).
IUCN Red List Status: Endangered (EN); Date assessed: 29 August 2019 (A2d) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
