Family:  Odacidae (Cales and weed-whitings)
Max. size:  12 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine; depth range 1 - 20 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: southern Australia, from Perth, Western Australia to Wilsons Promontory, Victoria; including Tasmania.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Common on rocky reefs with thick growths of brown macroalgae at depths of 10 m; also in areas of only moderate wave action.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 05 February 2009 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
