Diagnosis: |
Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-12; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Color pattern consisting of a wide longitudinal dark stripe superposed over the bar pattern and obscuring it, its width under dorsal origin is about 2.0-2.3 times in body depth; color pattern usually over a dark background (juveniles apparently go through various color patterns during their growth and large specimens usually dull dark brown). Lateral line reaching to below dorsal fin; complete black basal caudal bar; 8 1/2 branched dorsal rays; males without suborbital flap (Ref. 39226). |
Biology: |
Occurs in various habitats, including a large tributary and several smaller streams with moderate to swift current. Inhabits small riffles (Ref. 39226). |
