Distribution:  Oceania: Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits around grassy tussocks and weeds in small spring-fed pools with a depth of only a few centimeters in very dry, open country. The pools are exposed to full sun for most of the day and air temperatures reach 51°C in summer and fall as low as 3°C in winter. The fish and its limited habitat are now protected (Ref. 44894).
